Project description
Job interviews are often a great challenge. Young applicants in particular find themselves in an unfamiliar situation that has not been adequately practiced before. Virtual empathic training systems can create additional opportunities to practice job application situations and learn to better assess one’s own behavior.
In the EmpaT project, a real-time analysis of social signals is coupled with a real-time emotional user model for the first time in order to adapt the behavior of an interactive avatar to the socio-emotional situation of a user.
To this end, TriCAT’s project consortium of computer scientists, psychologists, and 3D graphics experts is researching and implementing the interpretation of social and emotional signals necessary for empathy and adaptation to each user and their social situation. The project is also dedicated to possible long-term societal implications of virtual empathic training systems.
