TriCAT researches in the BMBF project VASE on virtual services in mechanical and plant engineering
BMBF-funded collaborative research project "VASE" on the topic of virtual services in mechanical and plant engineering
On 01.09.17 the joint research project "Virtual and Analytics Service in Mechanical and Plant Engineering (VASE)" with TriCAT as project partner started. The project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), addresses the tasks and activities of service personnel in mechanical and plant engineering.
The use of virtual learning and working environments as well as the acquisition of machine data and their evaluation within the scope of service analytics enable the optimization of existing service processes and contribute to the development of new training concepts.
Both technologies - Virtual and Analytics Service - have the potential to promote cooperative value creation processes of customers and service providers. By integrating new technologies, innovative service environments can contribute to the flexibilization, individualization and optimization of added value and at the same time alleviate existing load and requirement situations in the service technicians' field of activity in mechanical and plant engineering.
The objectives of the collaborative project lie in a company-specific adaptation, in the testing and evaluation of the virtual learning and working environments VILA, in the development of a procedure to identify deficits in service processes on the basis of process data, and in the establishment of a practice-proven integration model to promote the reception of a Virtual and Analytics Services in the industrial service sector of mechanical and plant engineering.
The joint project addresses the conceptual design of an integration platform for the adaptation, testing and evaluation of company-specific, virtual learning and working environments for service technicians in machine and plant engineering in an interdisciplinary network of mechanical engineering companies, technology companies for 3D learning and working environments (TriCAT GmbH), IT service providers, business economists and technical didactics.
